Odisha records max temp; Raj, Haryana cold at 13ºC

Pune, Mar 25 (FN Bureau) The highest maximum temperature of 40°C was reported at Baripada and Bhubaneswar over the country. Heat wave conditions were observed at isolated pockets over Konkan and Goa. Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Konkan, Goa, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch and Odisha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Uttarakhand, coastal Karnataka and Gangetic West Bengal; at many places over Punjab, Gujarat region, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at a few places over Kerala, Mahe, Bihar and Jharkhand; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

They were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Vidarbha; at a few places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and near normal over rest parts of the country. Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at isolated places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Assam and Meghalaya; at many places over Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa and Lakshadweep; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Odisha.

They were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over Uttarakhand and Rayalaseema; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places over east Rajasthan, Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 13°C was reported at Sikar (east Rajasthan) and Karnal (Haryana) over the plains of the country.

Thunderstorm observed (from 1730 hrs IST of yesterday to 0830 hrs IST of today) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chattisgarh, north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Lakshadweep, Kerala and Mahe. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, north Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat state, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
