The Kia Seltos and Sonet range in India will see a variant rejig later this month. Kia Motors India currently sells multiple variants of the Seltos and Sonet,paired with petrol and diesel enginesthat get automatic andmanual gearbox options.

Kia has sent a notification to its dealers to stop taking bookings for the Sonet HTK Plus diesel-automatic and the 1.0 turbo-petrol DCT automatic. As far as the Seltos goes, customers won’t be able to book the HTX Plus 1.5 diesel. We are told that all vehicles booked till March 31, 2021, for these variants will be delivered. Kia Motors India will introduce a revised features list for both SUVs, with similar equipment levels, most likely by end of April 2021, according to the dealers.
The now-discontinued Seltos HTX Plus 1.5 diesel was available with features like six airbags, front parking sensors, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7.0-inch multi-info display, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, power sunroof, and rain sensing wipers. This variant was available with the 1.5-litrediesel engine only, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The Seltos HTX Plus 1.5 diesel was priced from Rs 15.59-16.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Sonet HTK Plus variant was the only variant available willall engine-gearbox combinations, and arguably was the one that spelt the most value for money. It was available with a long list of features like automatic headlamps, projector fog lamps, automatic climate control, electric folding outside mirrors, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Arkamys tuning and six speakers, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a rear-view camera. Adding to this was the equipment it carried up fromlower trims, like rear AC vents, a driver’s seat-height adjust, remote key entry, steering controls, and 16-inch steel wheels,to name a few. The HTK Plus1.0-litre turbo-petrol automatic also came equipped with ESP, drive modes, traction control and hill-start assist. The Sonet HTK Plusprices ranged from Rs 9.49-10.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
As reported by us earlier, Kia Motors will introduce its new logo and branding strategy in India, sometime later this month. Additionally, there are talks of the Seltos getting more features, like a panoramic sunroof and heated seats, to name a few. From what we now know, the Sonet with updated features may also see a market introduction around the same time period.
