Washington, Jan 15 (Bureau) US President-elect Joe Biden on Thursday unveiled a $1.9tn stimulus plan to help revive the US economy hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, before taking office next week. If the stimulus package is passed by Congress, it would provide $1tn for the households, with direct payments of $1,400 to all Americans.
The relief proposal also provides $415bn to fight the pandemic and $440bn for small businesses who have been the hardest hit. Mr Biden had vowed to do a better job of handling the virus than his predecessor President Donald Trump. These new proposal come as coronavirus has seen a huge surge during the winter breaking previous records. Mr Biden also said that he wants to start a countrywide vaccination programme which include setting up mass vaccination hubs and dispatching mobile units to remote areas and for that he proposes to pump $20bn.
