New Delhi , June 5 (FN Representative) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is the best educational institute under the overall category this year followed by IISc Bangalore and IIT-Delhi as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking, released by the Ministry of Education on Monday. The institute retained its position in the overall category for the fifth consecutive year (2019 to 2023). In the engineering categories, IIT Madras secured top position, followed by IISc Bangalore, IIT-Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur, respectively. The rankings were announced by Minister of State Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh via a press conference here. In the Management category , IIM Ahmedabad is the top management college in India followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has topped the university rankings followed by JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia. In the college category Miranda House, Hindu College of the Delhi University ranks first and second respectively, while the third rank has gone to Presidency College, Chennai. NLU Bengaluru has bagged the top spot in the law category followed by NLU Delhi and NALSAR, Hyderabad. The top 3 medical institutes list remains the same as last year’s rankings. The first position is bagged by AIIMS, Delhi, followed by PGIMER, Chandigarh and Christian Medical College, Vellore. NIRF 2023 rankings were released across 12 categories. This year, NIRF has added one new discipline namely, Agriculture and Allied Sectors. Also, architecture discipline has been renamed as Architecture and Planning. In this category, the top three colleges are Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi, National Dairy Institute, Karnal and Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.
