New Delhi, Sep 1 (Agency) The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on Thursday launched its new syllabus for the academic years starting from 2023 under the New Education Policy, ICSI president Devendra V Deshpande announced. Addressing a media conference on the occasion of ICSI’s 50th National Convention, Deshpande told reporters that the 3-day convention would explore the exemplified role of the company secretaries in promoting and strengthening the governance structure of the country in years to come.
“It will be a platform for dialogues between Regulators, Academicians, Industry leaders, professionals and other stakeholders to discuss the increasing impact of emerging governance technologies,” said the ICSI chief. The theme of the convention is “ CS: A Vishwaguru in Governance and Sustainability” in which some 11 delegates, arrived from several parts of the country, are participating. “ The convention, aimed at exploring the renewed role and responsibility of Company Secretaries in the wake of changing dynamics of the regulatory environment, will provide a platform for enhancing capacities and exchanging views/ideas on important matters related to the profession,” Deshpande said. He said they would explore the understanding of the post-pandemic Corporate Governance environment where integrity, transparency, and accountabilities are the drivers and Company Secretaries are the catalysts facilitating sustainable and inclusive growth. The conference would also discuss “Redefining Good Governance: Innovation, Compliance, Sustainability, and Inclusion” which set forth a channel of discussions from across economies and helped in understanding the intricacies of statutes of both jurisdictions.
