New Delhi, Oct 18 (FN Agency) India on Friday sent humanitarian assistance to violence-hit Lebanon and medical assistance to Papua New Guinea in the Pacific Islands. To Lebanon, India sent the first tranche of 11 tons of medical supplies, of a total of 33 tons being sent. This comprises of cardiovascular medications, antibiotics and anaesthetics, among other things. To the Pacific Islands, India sent the first consignment of 12 Haemo-Dialysis machines with portable RO Units destined for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. In posts on X, the MEA spokesperson said: “India sends humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.
“A total of 33 tons of medical supplies are being sent. First tranche of 11 tons of medical supplies was dispatched today. “The consignment comprises of a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including cardiovascular medications, NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), anti-inflammatory agents, antibiotics and anesthetics.” On the consignment sent to the Pacific Islands, the spokesperson said: “Standing together with the Pacific Islands family. “Fulfilling India’s commitment made at FIPIC III Summit, the first consignment of 12 Haemo-Dialysis machines with portable RO Units departed from Pipavav Port for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. “This assistance from India will help strengthen the healthcare system of Papua New Guinea.”
