Pakistan, Saudi Arabia sign MoUs worth $2.2 bln

Islamabad, Oct 11 (Agency) Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have inked 27 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) totalling $2.2 billion encompassing a variety of industries, media reports said. A high-powered Saudi team, led by Minister of Investment Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Faleh, arrived in Islamabad last night on a three-day official visit, Dawn reported on Thursday.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and Al Faleh witnessed the exchange of signed copies of MoUs in industry, agriculture, information technology (IT), food, education, mining and minerals, health, petroleum, energy, and other areas of mutual collaboration. Addressing the event, the prime minister stated that the Saudi business delegation’s visit was a “true manifestation of great sincerity and affection” for the people of Pakistan from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The premier emphasised the government’s commitment to implementing the MoUs and transforming them into future agreements via “hard work and unwavering efforts.”
