After Kejriwal resignation, AAP will hold meeting to elect new leader: Bharadwaj

New Delhi, Sep 16 (FN Agency) Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj announced on Monday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will submit his resignation tomorrow, and once his resignation is accepted, a meeting of legislature party will be convened to elect a new leader. Addressing the media, Bharadwaj said, “Following this, the newly elected leader of the legislative party will present their claim to the President through the Lieutenant Governor, and then take the oath. This process could take about a week.”

“The people of Delhi are so eager for the elections that they are calling for them to be held soon so they can re-elect Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister by voting for the Aam Aadmi Party,” he said. Referring to Kejriwal’s decision to resign after his release from jail, Bharadwaj said that the public believes he made the right decision by not resigning while in jail. The public is furious with the conspiracy hatched by BJP against Kejriwal. The Senior AAP leader accused the BJP of relentlessly attempting to defame the Delhi government over the past two years, stating that the people of Delhi are angry with the BJP, and this time, the party will not win even a single seat. “The entire world is shocked by yesterday’s developments; everyone in the country is talking about it. This has never happened in the history of the country that a sitting chief minister, after being released from jail, is stepping down and asking people to vote for him if they consider him honest, Bharadwaj said.

“For the first time in history, an election will be fought on the issue of honesty,” he said, adding that in this country, elections are typically fought on the grounds of caste, religion, and region. “This is the first time that elections will be fought on the issue of honesty, especially when the BJP-led central government, with its various agencies, including the ED, CBI, Income Tax Department, and ACB, has been targeting the chief minister of Delhi. No stone has been left unturned to defame the Delhi government over the last two years,” the Senior AAP leader said. By and large, the people of Delhi are upset with the BJP for having used all its power to harass the elected chief minister to the extent of sending him to jail, Bharadwaj claimed.
