Bhubaneswar, Aug 17 (Agency) Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) Managing Director U.S. Awasthi met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday and discussed various ongoing projects in the state. Awasthi, during his visit to the Paradeep Unit in Odisha, met Majhi, Industries Minister Sampad Charan Swain, and State Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja here. In his discussions with the Chief Minister, Dr. Awasthi emphasised IFFCO’s contributions to Odisha’s agricultural sector, focussing on the production of patented IFFCO nano fertilisers, DAP, and urea fertilisers. His meeting with the state chief secretary centred on IFFCO’s new investments and ongoing projects in Odisha, including the construction of a sulphuric acid plant, a nano fertiliser plant, and the River Jetty at Paradeep. Awasthi also proposed the development of a new Metro Rail to improve commuting facilities between Cuttack and Paradeep.
He discussed the establishment of a super speciality hospital in Paradeep, funded and operated by industries, to enhance healthcare facilities for the local community. Dr. Awasthi extended his congratulations and felicitations to Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and discussed various development initiatives for Paradeep, including the ongoing projects at the IFFCO Paradeep Unit and the proposed community-supporting establishments such as the industry-funded super speciality hospital and the new Metro Rail. Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Awasthi said, We are thankful for the support and interest shown by the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, and the Industry Minister in IFFCO’s efforts and upcoming projects. These initiatives, he said, are aligned with our commitment to ensuring fertiliser availability, contributing to the nation’s development, and underscoring IFFCO’s dedication to national progress through the empowerment of farmers across the country.
