Chikkballapur, Aug 10 (FN Bureau) Yesterday evening, Sadhguru Sannidhi became a vibrant hub of cultural and spiritual festivities as it hosted a grand celebration for Naga Panchami, a revered festival dedicated to honoring the sacred serpent, Naga. The event drew participants from across local communities and beyond, showcasing a rich blend of tradition and contemporary celebration. At the heart of the festivities was a three-day jathre (village fair) that unfolded at Sadhguru Sannidhi, offering a free and open experience for all attendees. This lively fair featured traditional celebrations, offerings to Naga, and a diverse range of cultural performances. Local village artists captivated the audience with their performances, while the homegrown band Sounds of Isha infused the event with unique musical flavors. A standout feature of the celebration was the Adiyogi Divya Darshana, a breathtaking video imaging show projected onto the 112-foot Adiyogi statue, which added a visually stunning dimension to the festival. The Naga Panchami celebrations commenced at 6:20 PM and were broadcast live on the Linga Bhairavi channel, allowing a global audience to partake in the vibrant atmosphere. The livestream captured the essence of the event, featuring an array of prominent celebrities, politicians, and a large turnout of local villagers, all coming together to celebrate the festival.
Local communities from five nearby villages contributed to the festivities by making pilgrimages to the Naga shrine, offering milk, a traditional gesture believed to appease Naga and invite his blessings. Devotees participated in a series of rituals designed by Sadhguru to seek Naga’s grace. Among these rituals was the Benne Seva, where specially prepared butter was applied directly on Naga, symbolising a physical connection with the serpent’s energies. Other key rituals included Naga Panchami Deepa Arpane, Naga Panchami Karkotaka Arpane, Naga Panchami Sarpa Seva, and Naga Dosha Nivarana Kriya.This year marked the second annual Naga Panchami event at Sadhguru Sannidhi’s Naga shrine, a significant spiritual site established as a Kshetrapala, or Protector, for the region.
