Six gets life term in murder case

Patna, March 17 (Agency) Additional District and session judge Kumar Gunjan awarded life imprisonment to six accused in connection with a murder case related to business rivalry. The court also slapped fine of Rs 55,000 against each of the accused namely Ranjeet Kumar alias Bittu, Ranjan Kumar, Bhola Kumar, Ajay Kumar alias Ajay Rai, Bhavya Prakash alias king and Vicky Kumar. The judgement was pronounced under various sections of Indian Penal Code(IPC) including IPC 302, 120 (B) and 34, and section 27 of arms act.

The court said that the amount of fine would be given to the widow and minor children of deceased. Apart from directing the district legal services authority to provide adequate compensation to the wife of the deceased and the children, the court also asked the senior police superintendent of Patna to provide security to them. As per the case the accused had shot dead Mr Ram Chandra Jha near Mithilanchal Colony turning under Beur police station area of Patna on September 12, 2016.
