Bhubaneswar, Aug 5 (FN Representative) The Odisha vigilance unearthed huge property and assets during raids on Monday from the possession of Additional Chief Engineer, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC) P K Rath and his family members. Odisha Vigilance directorate sources said on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Rath, posted as Additional Chief Engineer, Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC), office at Chief Construction Engineer, R & B Cuttack Circle, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance team on Monday.
The team led by 9 DSPs, 11 Inspectors, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack conducted raids at 12 places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Khordha. During house searches so far, the vigilance team had unearthed residential triple storeyed building at Satya Vihar, Pandora, Bhubaneswar,another residential triple storeyed building at Bhadrak,one Flat at Oyster Apartment at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, one Flat at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar,a Crusher Unit in Dhenkanal,one Medicine store-cum-residence of area approx. 1000 Sqft. at Indradhanu market, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar in the name of Rath and his family members. This apart,the vigilance team found 42 plots in upscale areas Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal,Bhadrak & Jajpur , of which 3 in Bhubaneswar, 1 in Khordha, 2 in Cuttack, 2 in Bhadrak, 2 in Dhenkanal & 32 in Jajpur.
Vigilance sources said deposits 88 lakhs, 1 four wheeler, 2 jcbs, 1 excavator were also unearthed so far during searches on properties linked to the additional chief engineer. The total registered sale deed value comes to over Rs.1.05 Crore,the vigilance sources said, adding that the actual value is likely to be higher, which is being verified. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings, flats, Crusher Unit, Medicine store and plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing. The searches are continuing.
