New Delhi, Aug 1 (Bureau) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chinh on Thursday held talks to further deepen the bilateral historic ties and give further impetus to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The two sides held talks to deepen cooperation in areas including economic, defence, development partnership, cultural exchanges and also exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues. PM Modi, in his remarks after the talks, said the two countries in order to further deepen and strengthen the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership have adopted a new Plan of Action and also taken new steps in the field of defence and security partnership.
The two sides inked agreements in the field of agriculture, capacity building, legal, media, medicine and conservation and restoration of shared heritage. The two PMs virtually inaugurated an Army Software Park at Telecommunications University, Nha Trang, Vietnam, built with Indian assistance. The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in posts on X said: “The next step in the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was taken today. “Agreements signed today in agriculture, capacity building, legal, media, medicine & conservation and restoration of our shared heritage reflect the spirit of our ties. “Projects that the Prime Ministers inaugurated today take forward #DeliveredbyIndia . Confident that this mantra will find increasing resonance across the world in the times ahead.” On the talks between the two leaders, he posted: “Setting new milestones in bilateral partnership. “PM @narendramodi and PM Phạm Minh Chinh of Vietnam held talks to further deepen historic ties between the two countries.
“Discussions comprehensively covered various areas of bilateral cooperation including economic, defence, development partnership, cultural exchanges and more. They also exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues.” He also posted: “A shining example of India-Vietnam development partnership! “The leaders virtually inaugurated Army Software Park at Telecommunications University, Nha Trang, Vietnam built with Indian assistance.” The outcomes of the visit, include: *Plan of Action for the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the 2024-2028 period between the Republic of India and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. *MoU for cooperation in Customs Capacity Building between the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs of India and the General Department of Viet Nam Customs, Viet Nam. *MoU between Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur and Viet Nam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hanoi, Viet Nam for cooperation in Agricultural Research and Education. *MoU between Ministry of Justice of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Law and Justice of the Republic of India on cooperation in the legal field.
*MoU between Prasar Bharati, New Delhi, India and the Voice of Viet Nam (VoV), Hanoi, Viet Nam for cooperation on Radio and Television. *Two Dollar Credit Line Agreements between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam represented by the Ministry of Finance and Export-Import Bank of India, amounting to USD 300 mn. *Letter of Intent between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for the conservation and restoration of F Block in My Son, Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam. *MoU between the Traditional Medicine Administration Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of Ayush of Government of the Republic of India on cooperation in the Field of Medicinal Plants. *MoU between the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways of the Republic of India on Cooperation and Development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, Gujarat. The Announcements include: * Virtual Inauguration of Army Software Park at Telecommunications University Nha Trang, Viet Nam. *Vietnam to join the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). Earlier in the day, the Vietnamese PM, who is on a three-day state visit, was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. As PM Modi welcomed his visiting Vietnamese counterpart, the two PMs exchanged warm hugs of friendship.
