Shinde, Pawar congratulate shooter Swapnil Kusale for winning Bronze in Paris Olympics

Mumbai, Aug 1 (FN Agency) Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday congratulated Swapnil Kusale for winning bronze medal in shooting competition in Paris Olympics, describing him as the pride of Maharashtra. Kusale of Kolhapur has won bronze medal in 50 metre rifle shooting.In his congratulatory message, the Chief Minister said, “Swapneel reminded him of Khashaba Jadhav who won India’s first individual medal in wrestling. After nearly 72 years, Swapnil has created the same kind of joy and enthusiasm for the sports field in the state by winning this medal for Maharashtra.” “The Kolhapur district has a great tradition of shooting. Swapnil has maintained this tradition. Coming from a rural area like Kambalwadi, Swapnil has made the name of his state and country known internationally.

Earning an individual medal for the country, Swapnil has enhanced Maharashtra’s sporting glory,” he added. While congratulating Swapnil Kusale, Deputy Chief Minister and president of Maharashtra Olympic Association Ajit Pawar said that Swapnil Kusale has won bronze medal by scoring 451.4 points in ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.Maharashtra along with the country is proud that Swapnil from Kambalwadi village near Kolhapur won India’s third medal in the Paris Olympics today. He was selected for Sports Prabodhini when he was in Class VII and he continued his training at Bhosla Military School. Pawar further said that Swapnil has increased the glory of Maharashtra at the international level by achieving a historic performance with the strength of great will, determination, perseverance and training in Sports Prabodhini, he added.
