Kolkata, July 16 (FN Agency) In a bid to reduce the journey time, Eastern Railway has decided to increase the speed of several long distance passenger trains to 130 kmph from existing 110 kmph according to an official source. “ The maximum speed of several trains will be increased from 110 to 130 kmph, which will increase the average speed of long-distance trains and reduce the journey time. This higher speed will be effective very shortly, “ the ER spokesman said. He further said, “ The ER is constantly taking various modernisation measures to improve its services and the inclusion of LHB coaches is an important part of that effort. The FIAT coaches are expecting to implement the higher speed and enable the rakes to run at higher speeds and make the journey smoother.
“Built with cutting-edge technology, LHB coaches promise a journey that’s not only more comfortable but also safer. They are longer, lighter, and perfect for high-speed travel, enhancing travel quality and slashing maintenance costs. Eastern Railway’s recent upgrade includes LHB coaches on various routes, offering passengers plush seating, superior ventilation, and a more stable ride. This transformation makes traveling safer, more convenient, and incredibly comfortable.
The upgraded trains include Asansol-CSMT Weekly Express, Tatanagar-Jasidih Super Fast Express, the Durg-Ara Express: Sambalpur-Patna Super Fast Express: Puri-Jaynagar Weekly Express, Puri-Patna Baidyanathdham Express: Kolkata-Gorakhpur Purbanchal Express: Kolkata-Gorakhpur Express. These trains will be operated with LHB coaches and FIAT bogies, providing faster travel times, improved comfort, and enhanced safety features. Indian Railways is dedicated to continually improving its services to meet the evolving needs of its passengers, and this upgrade is a step towards achieving that goal.
