Ahmedabad, June 22 (Representative) Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated 30 smart schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, via e-launch on Friday.The event was attended by the state’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and several other dignitaries.In his address, Shah stated, “Under the New Education Policy 2020 introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 30 smart schools have been constructed at a cost of INR 36 crore by the Ahmedabad Municipal School Board. These include nine smart schools in Ghatlodia Assembly, ten in Vejalpur Assembly, four in Naranpura, and seven in Sabarmati. The inauguration of these 30 smart schools will directly benefit more than ten thousand children, spreading the light of education in their lives.” He further added, “Out of the total 69 schools in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, 59 have been transformed into smart schools, and the remaining will soon be converted. The curriculum in these smart schools includes skill development, vocational training, and digital empowerment.
Additionally, they feature math and science labs, future classrooms, 3D educational charts, 3D paintings, and incorporate all aspects of Indian culture.”The Union Home Minister expressed gratitude to the voters of Gandhinagar for their trust in him as their Member of Parliament. He said, “This is my first visit to Gujarat and the first event as Minister and MP, organized for the children of the lower and poorer sections of society. I will always be indebted to the people of Gandhinagar for their trust in me, and I am committed to making every area of Gandhinagar the most developed parliamentary constituency in the coming five years.”Shah also mentioned the significance of International Yoga Day, saying, “Ten years ago, in 2014, Prime Minister Modi proposed at the United Nations General Assembly that June 21 should be celebrated as International Yoga Day. This proposal was supported by around 170 countries, and for the past ten years, the entire world has been celebrating Yoga Day, a gift from our sages. Millions around the world have incorporated yoga into their daily routine.”
He emphasised the power of yoga, stating, “Through yoga, as guided by our sages, it is possible to achieve the connection between body, mind, and soul with the divine through practices like meditation, asanas, and pranayama. The strength to dive into the ocean of the mind’s profound powers comes from yoga. Prime Minister Modi has propagated the benefits of yoga worldwide. On June 21, as the sun rises across the earth, people begin to integrate mind, body, and soul through yoga.”Shah concluded by saying, “On International Yoga Day, we should express our gratitude to the Prime Minister for presenting the path of world welfare through yoga to the global community. The Gujarat government has also taken several initiatives to promote yoga, including forming a board and incorporating yoga into the curriculum.”
