Mies, Switzerland, April 26 (Agency) The draw of the 2026 Women’s World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournaments was held here on Thursday at the headquarters of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The 16 teams were divided into four groups of four teams each and the results of the draw are: Group A: South Korea, Mali, Czech Republic, Venezuela Group B: Mexico, Montenegro, New Zealand, Mozambique Group C: Brazil, Hungary, Senegal, Philippines Group D: Rwanda, Britain, Argentina, Lebanon Groups A and B will play in Mexico City, Mexico, and C and D in Kigali, Rwanda between August 19-25, 2024.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals of each tournament. The two winners of each tournament will qualify for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournaments in 2026. The two winners will join the other 22 teams, which will emerge from continental tournaments in 2025, in the Qualifying Tournaments. 16 teams will compete at the World Cup in 2026 in Germany.
