New Delhi, Apr 4 (FN Agency) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that enhanced rainfall and thunderstorms will continue to lash the parts of Northeast India till April 7. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected over Arunachal Pradesh from April 4 to 7 with the possibility of very heavy falls on April 6 and over Assam and Meghalaya tomorrow, the IMD said. According to weather department, “Fairly widespread to widespread moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh; scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next seven days.”
The MeT department said, “Isolated light rainfall is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two days and scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning from April 6 to 10.”Isolated to scattered light rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand from April 6 to 9; over Bihar on April 7 and 8, it said. On hot and humid weather, the IMD said, these conditions will prevail over Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa till April 7. Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over parts of east and peninsular India during the next 3 days, the IMD said. The weather department also predicted warm night conditions over Odisha and North Interior Karnataka during April 4 to 6, Chhattisgarh on April 4 & 5 and Vidarbha on April 5 & 6.
