Kakinada, Apr 4 (FN Bureau) AITUC affiliated AP Municipal workers union on Wednesday demanded the government to arrange payment of strike period wages as assured in the agreement, without further delay. A delegation of the union headed by AITUC district general secretary Thokala Prasad has called on the Municipal health officer at the municipal corporation office here and presented a representation seeking settlement of the legitimate demands of the workers. Their demands include enhancement of wages for the strike period, payment of Rs.1,000 bonus, granting of full day holiday instead of half day during festivals and sanctioning of casual leaves.
They further demanded Inspectors supervision at the muster centers instead of entrusting to the maistries and secretariat secretaries who are harassing the workers under some pretext or the other. Another demand was seniority based promotions to the sanitary workers . AP Municipal workers union kakinada committee president Bobbili Srinivasarao, general secretary Tupakula Lakshminarayana and Bangaru Ramesh were among the delegation that called on the Municipal health officer.
