NDA’s return to power at centre is impossible: Shivpal

Etawah (UP) Apr 3 (Representative) National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party (SP) Shivpal Singh Yadav on Wednesday claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will not return to power at the centre under any circumstances as large scale resentment among the public could be witnessed against it across the country. While talking to journalists at his residence in Chaugurji in his home district, Etawah, Shivpal said that the I.N.D.I alliance is badly defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, due to which there is no hope of the NDA returning to power in Delhi. He said that in the manner in which action is being taken against the opposition politicians and they are being sent to jail with the help of ED and CBI, there is a large scale of public anger against the NDA alliance in the entire country.

“This is being considered sufficient to remove it from power,” he said. On the question of his son Aditya Yadav contesting the Badaun parliamentary seat, the SP leader said that the people of Badaun have demanded that a young leader be needed. “The demands of the people have been listed and sent to the national president of the party. However, at present, he himself is the candidate of I.N.D.I Alliance from Badaun,” he said. He said, “But the public has the right to demand, and obviously the SP chief has to take a decision on the demand made by the public. There are some parts of the strategy that cannot be revealed now. Let the strategy remain as strategy.”

Regarding SP not announcing a candidate for the Kannauj parliamentary seat, Shivpal said that only SP will win in Kannauj. “This seat has been a traditional seat of Netaji’s (Mulayam Singh Yadav), and now SP will contest and win the election from the Kannauj parliamentary seat with full strength,” he said. On the question of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal being arrested and sent to Tihar Jail, he said that opposition politicians are being harassed under BJP rule. “Opposition politicians are being put in jail for filing false cases. The public is watching this, and when the voting opens, the NDA alliance will know the truth,” he said.
