Fit India pink Cyclothon 2024 promotes women’s health and inclusivity

New Delhi, Mar 8 (Representative) The paths of the iconic JLN Stadium in New Delhi were painted pink on Friday as the 1st Edition of the Fit India Pink Cyclothon-2024 took place, aligning with the Fit India Movement championed by the Honourable Prime Minister. Organised by SPEFL-SC in association with Skill India, NCIET, NSDC, FICCI, SPEFL-SC, and Fit India, this event marked a significant milestone in promoting women’s health, fitness, and inclusivity. Dedicated to the cause of women’s empowerment and fitness, the event kicked off on the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day, starting at 6 am and continuing until 10 am. Under the guidance of Ekta Vishnoi, Director of Mission FIT India, and Arun Kumar Gupta, Director, the event saw a vibrant mix of activities aimed at engaging participants and spectators alike.Participants took part in a cycling run, zumba sessions, and various other programs designed to inspire and promote fitness.Among the notable personalities present were Preeti Maske, a cyclist, Shaheeda Parveen Ganguly, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu & Kashmir Police, Vita Dani, Founder of the Dani Foundation, Anita Singh Tanwar, a Social Worker, and Khushveen Kaur from Enhanced Lab India.They shared inspiring messages of self-defense and the importance of fitness for women in today’s world. “Cycling is the most easy and convenient way to keep us fit,” remarked Preeti Maske, emphasising the accessibility of cycling for fitness.Supporting this sentiment, Shaheeda Parveen Ganguly highlighted the importance of self-awareness and taking charge of one’s own well-being.Vita Dani and Anita Singh Tanwar echoed these sentiments, stressing the significance of maintaining physical fitness for women’s holistic development.

Khushveen Kaur added, “Only fit women can provide their positive contribution towards the nation’s growth.” What made the event truly special was the participation of individuals from various backgrounds, including especially-abled members, para-athletes, transgender individuals, and the elderly.Tahsin Zahid, Officiating CEO of Sports, Physical Education, Fitness, and Leisure Sector Skills Council, expressed the event’s vision: “This program is not just a one-time boost for society to realize the power of women and promote regular fitness; we are soon going to host this event in other cities across the country.” Participants were honored with certificates of participation at the event’s closing ceremony, receiving motivation to continue their fitness journey. Organizers, including officials from SPEFL such as Rakesh Kumar, Amit Khanna, Mamta Sing, and many more, are eagerly looking forward to the next edition of Fit India Pink Cyclothon, anticipating the enthusiasm of participants and the excitement of audiences from far and wide in the Delhi-NCR region.This inaugural edition of the Fit India Pink Cyclothon not only celebrated women’s health and fitness but also served as a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment for all.As the pink paths of the JLN Stadium fade into memory, the spirit of this event continues to inspire a healthier, more active future for women across the nation.
