New Delhi, Feb 22 (Agency) The mineral production has registered a growth of 5.1 per cent during the month of December 2023 corresponding to same month in 2022. “The index of mineral production mining and quarrying sector for the month of December 2023 at 139.4 is 5.1 per cent higher against same period in 2022,” an official media statement said here.
Important minerals showing positive growth include Magnesite, Lead, Lignite, Copper, Lime Stone, Coal, Zink, iron ore among others. While Petroleum (crude), Gold and Diamond registered negative growth over the same period. The cumulative growth of these minerals during nine months of current fiscal 2023-24 (April-December) stood at 8.5 per cent compared to corresponding period last financial year.
