Bhubaneswar, Feb 2 (FN Representative) Annual Entrepreneurial Conclave, E-Summit ’24 that celebrates the passion of entrepreneurship is getting conducted in IIT Bhubaneswar Campus from 2nd -4th February 2024. The Summit was inaugurated on 2nd February 2024 by Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, a well-known Industry professional, Former CMD of Nalco & Present President Vedanta Aluminium as Chief Guest alongwith Patron, Professor Shreepad Karmalkar, Director, IIT, Bhubaneswar, Dr Sreetama Misra, Chairperson, E-Summitt-24, Dr Venugopal Armuru PIC E-Cell, Dr Rajesh Roshan Dash, Dean – Students Affairs with other Industry leaders & dignitaries.
The E-Summit is intended to support the startups across the nation as well as encourage and inspire students to become entrepreneurs as it believes that the future of our beloved nation is in the hands of the youngsters. They can create millions of jobs & become employer rather than employee, the job providers instead of a job seeker, while being entrepreneurs of the young & vibrant country, where in the GDP is heading northwards from the current 3.73 trillion to 5 trillion by 2030. The Summit initiates to facilitate interaction among global industrialists, funding agencies, seasoned and upcoming entrepreneurs, academia and students of the participating institutes bridging and connecting to foster growth. It includes a gamut of activities such as entrepreneurial guest lectures, workshops and panel discussions with experts, start-up fair and investors drive to add more zing to the overall perspective and to bring the spirit of entrepreneurship to the real life and make it happen.
While giving his inaugural address, Dr Tapan Chand told that by the turn of this decade India will be the youngest nation in the world with 64% of its population is working age group. Providing engagement to ninety crores of people is a huge challenge and at the same time it is a mega opportunity. With productive engagement to all India is likely to cultivate demographic dividend of 2% of GDP which will accelerate its journey to 5 trillion-dollar economy. Explaining the subject of Digital Renaissance, he mentioned that a cluster of cutting-edge technology is driving a golden era with glorious presentation of digitalization and democratization. He underscored that Industry & Business is undergoing fast democratization and capital is getting replaced with capabilities for the business success. One need not be the son or daughter of an industrialist or business house with big surname to start business and succeed. What on requires now to develop an innovative idea and transform this to a successful & sustainable business. Dr Chand advised the startups to have deep look in to the industries which are vast reserver of start-up projects. In this connection he invited start-ups to set-up units in industrial clusters & aluminium parks of Odisha. He also encourages them to develop, technological solutions for increased value additions in mineral rich Odisha. He pinned the hope that start-ups will help the state in achieving its dream of one trillion-dollar economy.
