M’rashtra be leader in implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes: Shinde

Mumbai, Jan 31 (FN Bureau) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday directed that strict planning should be done so that the state would remain number one in the country in implemention of the central government’s schemes. Presiding over a review meeting of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Mahanet at his official Zarsha bungalow here, he said that planning should be done so that Maharashtra should be the leader in implementation of the centrally-sponsored schemes. Maximum number of houses should be built in Maharashtra through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he said and informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is constantly reviewing these centrally-sponsored schemes. He asked the Department of Housing and Urban Development to coordinate with various departments and local bodies to speed up implementation of these schemes.

He further said that the number of Gharkul Yojana projects in urban areas should be increased and all the Gharkul project sites should be completed with all civic amenities so that beneficiaries can participate in these schemes. While determining the project site, provision of roads, electricity, water facilities should be made in that area, he said. Also, while choosing the project site, it should be ensured that there are no other obstacles in it, he said. These projects should be accelerated to meet objective of construction of houses for the economically weaker sections of the state, he added. While reviewing various schemes of the Health department, the Chief Minister gave instruction to modernise the TB hospital of BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation.
