World looks at India as pillar of stability & trusted friend: PM Modi

New Delhi, Jan 9 (Mayank Nigam) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Wednesday, saying, “ The world looks at India as an important pillar of stability and a trusted friend.” Speaking at the inaugural session of the summit, the Prime Minister said India’s commitment and hard work for the welfare of the world are making it more secure and prosperous.” He further added, “India has given confidence to the world that we can set common goals and achieve our goals.” The Prime Minister highlighted India’s goal for the next 25 years.

“We have the goal of making it a developed country by the time it celebrates 100 years of independence. Therefore, these 25 years’ duration are India’s Amrit Kaal,” Modi added. Talking about the importance of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “In the past 20 years, since its inception, the Summit of Vibrant Gujarat has given a platform to new ideas and has opened new avenues for investments and returns.” “The theme for 2024 is ‘Gateway to the Future’. It is only with our efforts and commitment that the future of the 21st century will be vibrant,” he said. Modi said, “During its G20 presidency, India gave a roadmap for the global future. Today, we would like to take that vision forward.” Recounting the economic development in the past 10 years under BJP rule, the Prime Minister said, “Today India is the fifth largest economy in the world, whereas 10 years ago India was in 11th position…adding that every major rating agency in the world estimates that India will be among the top 3 economies of the world in the next few years.

“At a time when the world is surrounded by many uncertainties, then India has emerged as a new ray of confidence in the world,” he further added. “At the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar, PM Narendra Modi said, “We are all aware of the global circumstances. So, in times like these, if the Indian economy is displaying such resistance, if the growth in India is showing such momentum, a big reason behind this is our focus on structural reforms in the last 10 years,” he said. Modi also highlighted the India-UAE relationship and said, “India and UAE have signed multiple agreements for the development of food parks, cooperation in renewable energy, and investment in innovative healthcare.” “The participation of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in this summit is a matter of great joy for us. His presence as the chief guest at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit is a symbol of the ever-strengthening relations between India and the UAE. For India’s port infrastructure, UAE companies have agreed to invest billions of dollars. India and the UAE have taken their relationship to new heights,” he said. After the inaugural session, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the CEOs of top global corporations. Modi will interact with prominent business leaders in the Global FinTech Leadership Forum to be held at GIFT City in the evening. There are 34 Partner countries and 16 Partner organisations for this year’s summit.

Along with the Indian industrialists, nearly 200 global CEOs are expected to attend the summit. This year, Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 will focus on sunrise sectors like semiconductors, green hydrogen, e-mobility, and space manufacturing. Along with more than 2500 B2B and B2C meetings, the summit will also have a series of seminars on globally relevant topics such as Industry 4.0, technology and innovation, and renewable energy, among others. The Ministry of Development of the North-Eastern Region will utilise the Vibrant Gujarat platform to showcase investment opportunities in the North-Eastern regions. In the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show, companies will display products made from world-class state-of-the art technology.
