Palampur Oct 29 (Agency) Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar said on Sunday that January 22, 2024 will become a new historic day in the history of India when the grand Ram temple will be inaugurated in Ayodhya. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will consecrate the idol of Lord Ram in the presence of lakhs of people and a new chapter will be added not only in the history of India but also of the entire world. He said that after a long struggle of about 500 years, sacrifice of hundreds of people and long litigation of about 100 years, the dream of crores of people will come true. He said that with this historical achievement of India, fortunately the name of small Palampur will also become immortal in history. In the last struggle to build the Ram temple, the Bharatiya Janata Party had passed the proposal for the historic Ram temple in its National Working Committee meeting in Palampur. He said that the Working Committee meeting was held in Palampur from 9 to 11 June, 1989.
I was the Himachal Pradesh BJP President at that time and I had the privilege of making complete arrangements for that historic meeting. I was also a member of the National Working Committee, hence I am a witness to the passing of that historic resolution and the entire arrangement. After that decision, there was a strong movement all over India. Shri Advani ji’s historic Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya took place and the jails were filled. The famous Kar Seva took place on December 6, and then after a long litigation the historic decision of the court was taken. Shanta Kumar said that lakhs of people of Himachal Pradesh and Palampur are also waiting for that historic day. Palampur will also have an important place in the history of India. He said, ” I personally am also waiting for that day. Many workers of that time from Palampur went to Ayodhya too and they too are waiting for this historical day”.
