Amit Shah denounces Cong as a roadblock to progress

Ujjain, Oct 29 (Agency) In a multi-pronged assault on the Congress, Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah alleged on Sunday that the party is habituated to opposing everything as evidenced by its protestations against the surgical strikes, abrogation of Article 370, prohibition of triple talaq and the conducting of the G20 Summit in New Delhi. Addressing a public meeting in this divisional headquarters of election-bound Madhya Pradesh, the visiting leader averred, “For decades together, the Congress – which should drown itself – did not abrogate Art 370. (Erstwhile party president) Rahul Baba (Gandhi) warned that such a measure would make rivers of blood flow in Kashmir! However, not a soul possessed the courage to hurl even a pebble.” On the religion front, Shah said that the Congress obstructed, derailed and kept Ayodhya’s Ram temple project pending and Rahul later used to heap sarcasm by saying that the BJP is not declaring the date of shrine construction.

“During Congress rule; some Aaliya, Maliya or Jamaliya used to come and trigger blasts within our territory, and nobody even murmured in protest. At the time of the Uri and Pulwama attacks, the terrorists forgot that Mauni Baba Manmohan (Singh) was no longer in the saddle. In a decade, the Sonia-Manmohan regime achieved precisely nothing and left Bharat’s economy at 11th position globally,” he added. In the context of this state, the Minister alleged that the Congress made it BiMaRU. “In 2003, Madhya Pradesh’s budget was a mere Rs 23,000 crore with the education component being a paltry Rs 2,456 cr; the per capita income Rs 11,000 and the total road network 60,000 km. The law-and-order situation was in shambles and the tourism sphere underutilised. Malwa was converted into a den of the Students’ Islamic Movement of India. The Gandhi family, former chief minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul, ex-chief minister Digvijaya Singh and his son have no other work barring ruination of the state. I challenge Kamal Nath to a development debate at the time and place of his choice! He did not even dispatch a list of ryots to the Centre vis-à-vis a welfare scheme for that segment,” Shah observed.
