Lucknow, Oct 18 (Representative) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that there has been a rise in dengue cases recently, particularly in Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, and Gautam Buddha Nagar therefore, efforts should be made to prevent the emergence of hotspot situations in any area. While reviewing the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, the status of under-construction medical colleges, and the efforts being made for the prevention of dengue in a high-level meeting, the CM said, “Additional beds should be arranged in hospitals as per requirements. Whether in villages or cities, not a single infected patient should suffer due to a lack of treatment. There must be regular reporting of new patients in all government and private hospitals and medical colleges. “He said that concrete efforts were necessary to control the situation of outbreaks in the districts. “The Urban Development, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj departments should carry out fogging and larvicidal spraying to effectively control mosquito populations.
Consistent sanitisation in the mornings and fogging in the evenings should be done. Additionally, addressing water logging issues is crucial,” he said. Yogi said that Ayushman cards must be made for every family eligible for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. “The ongoing campaign in UP has made significant progress in this regard, covering 191.9 lakh families who now get the annual Rs 5 lakh free health insurance benefits. It is also essential to enhance public awareness about the scheme,” he said. He said that the state government has adopted the public-private partnership mode for setting up medical colleges in unserved districts.
“Under this, work has started in Shamli, Mau, Maharajganj, and Sambhal, whereas for Baghpat, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Mahoba, Hamirpur, and Hathras, approval has been received from the central government under Viability Gap Funding. Work should start everywhere soon,” he said. The CM directed to ensure proper deployment by providing appointment letters to 293 selected teachers and more than 1,950 staff nurses in various medical colleges. “Qualified doctors should be appointed to the vacant posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in government medical colleges as soon as possible,” he said. He said that under phase 3, the construction work of medical colleges in Bulandshahr, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Auraiya, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, Kanpur Dehat, Pilibhit, Bijnor, Chandauli, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Sultanpur, and Amethi should be completed in a timely manner with high quality.
