New Delhi, Sep 12 (FN Agency) The life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda were more relevant today when the nation needed more Spiritual strength to combat adverse forces from within and outside and Universal Brotherhood Day here which was focused on the younger generation in order to bring them close to their spiritual and cultural roots. K C Sharma former state Election Commissioner on Monday said this during Universal Brotherhood Day function organised by local branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanaya Kumari to commemorate the historical speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda in the world Religious conference at Chicago USA on September 11, 1893 at Sharan college. He said the character of Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to the youth and his teachings were contemporary. He said youth could cultivate the qualities of courage and spiritual strength by following his teaching as his thoughts were very scientific in nature. He said greatest service will be to do their job in their respective fields honestly and sincerely.
Ashok Raina Sanchalak Uttar prant of Vivekenanda Kendra Kanayakumari, who addressed the function said Swami Vivekananda is major source of inspiration being a matchless personality. He stressed for self-introspection and manifestation of divinity within. He further stressed on the youth to adher to his teachings as these teachings were more relevant now in view of the present national and global scenario. He also stressed for becoming useful citizen and render good service to the humanity through this one can realize God. Ashok Raina stressed on youth to resort to ‘ Nishkam Karma Yog’ for their bright future.He stressed on the parents to bring their children close to the national ethos and inculcate the cultural values in them.
He also stressed upon the importance of social service and added that upliftment of society and individual was possible through selfless service. He described the scenes of World Religious conference in his words.Swami Chidrupananda , Acharya Chinmaya Mission Noida presided over function and said youth must follow the foot prints of Swami Vivekananda in right perspective. The results of the declamation contest organised on September 5, at Dronacharya College of Education. Rait were announced Tuesday and the winners included Ms.Tavisha Thakur Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering Massal and Ms. Arshya Jasrotiya Sharan college of Education Ghurkari who bagged first position and Swati of Dronacharya Postgraduate College of Education Rait bagged second position and Mr.Kshitij Kivan Rajendra Prashad Govt. Medical College Tanda and Ms.Trisha Chaudhry GDC Takipur bagged consolidation prize. The winners were given cash prize, citation and Swamiji’s literature.
