Mumbai, Sep 8 (FN Agency) India’s food processing sector is aiming to double its contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) from eight per cent to 20 per cent by the year 2030, said Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, on Thursday.
The Government of India has allocated Rs 4,600 crore to sustain Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sanchayini Yojana (PMKS) and over 40,000 visitors are expected from across India and beyond, he further said after inaugurating ANUTEC International FoodTec India trade show. He also said that International FoodTec India, co-located with AnuFood India and PackEx India is the representation of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. With an expansive 38,000 sq mtr exhibition space, over 800 companies from over 28 countries are participating in the trade show, a press release said here.
