Lucknow, Aug 23 (FN Agency) Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on made it clear that her party will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own and said that alliances forged in the past have resulted in losses to BSP. During a meeting with the senior party functionaries, in-charges and other office-bearers of the, Mayawati directed the leaders to be very careful in the selection of party candidates in the wake of announcement of Lok Sabha elections immediately after the assembly polls in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. She said that BSP had suffered more losses than gain less and due to alliance in Uttar Pradesh in the past. “While the votes of BSP get transferred to other parties. Other parties neither have the intention nor the ability to transfer their votes in favour of our candidate. This affects the morale of the party workers and it is not possible to move forward by ignoring this bitter reality,” she said. The BSP supremo said that as far as the election was concerned there is a feedback that the public is suffering due to the narrow, casteist and communal policies of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“This is the reason due to which the mass base of the BJP has weakened and this process will continue further. Due to this the election in UP will not be one-sided but will prove to be very interesting and give a new twist to the country’s politics,” she said. She said that the public is completely troubled by high inflation, poverty, unemployment, malicious politics and deteriorating atmosphere in the country. “Like BJP, there is a big difference between the words and actions of the Congress. While the coalition of the ruling and opposition parties are putting their own claims of victory in the Lok Sabha elections, but despite being in power their claims have proved to be hollow,” she said. Mayawati said that while BSP tries to move forward by uniting every section of the society, the opposition parties were mostly busy in the narrow politics therefore it is better to maintain a safe distance from them. Making some necessary changes in the party, she said that UP is a huge and politically important state, that is why the political situation here changes rapidly. “That is why some changes have to be made continuously in the party with the intention of achieving good election results, so do not underestimate the responsibility given to you and fulfil them with full loyalty and honesty considering the interest of the party as paramount,” she said.
