Patna, Aug 22 (FN Agency) Settling down the confusion regarding convener of Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that there will not be any single convenor in the opposition’s alliance. Talking to a section of media at his native village Phulwaria in Gopalganj District on Tuesday, Yadav, accompanied by his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, MLC said that one person will not be made the convenor of the I.N.D.I.A. Alliance. Ruling out any confusion regarding the post of convener in the alliance for which Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was aspiring, Yadav said that no single person will be made convener of the entire Alliance. He said that different people will be given the responsibility of the convener for different states. The RJD leader said that instead of making a single person convener of the entire Alliance, different people will be given the responsibilities of some of the states. For this, Lalu said that several people will be selected for every state and every convener will be conferred upon with the responsibilities of at least 4 to 5 states. He said that the discussions for smooth functioning of the alliance as well as the number of seats to be contested was going on. With his statement Lalu Prasad Yadav rejected Nitish’s lone claim on the post of coalition’s convenor. It may be recalled that Nitish Kumar played a pivotal role in formation of the opposition’s alliance and since beginning the discussions of Kumar becoming it’s convener was doing rounds in the political corridors.
Apparently annoyed with the non-announcement of his name for the post during Bengaluru’s meeting held on July 17 18. Kumar, had hurriedly returned from there even without addressing the important Press Conference. The political pundits at that time had considered his move as an indication of his resentment. In view of his important role in the formation of the opposition’s alliance, it was expected that Kumar will be made convener of the alliance but now with his statement, Lalu Prasad Yadav one of the major players of the alliance purged off the suspense. Yadav said that the meeting of I.N.D.I.A. schedule to be held on August 31 and September 1 in Mumbai would discuss the seat sharing. He said a consensus would emerge in the meeting on the issue of number of seats to be contested by the constituent members of the alliance, the former CM said. Ruling out any dispute in the alliance, he said that their mission was to defeat the BJP in the election. Regarding Tejasvi Yadav to be the Chief Minister of Bihar, the RJD leader said that the party workers wished for and added that it is the people who give power to a person. He said that Tejaswi would become Chief Minister whenever the people decide for. Ruling out any deal to make Tejaswi Prasad Yadav as Chief Minister at the time RJD-JDU entered into an Alliance to form the government in Bihar, Lalu said that they came together only to oust BJP from power.
