Ayodhya (UP), Aug 20 (Agency) The ‘Thalaivar’ of South Indian cinema Rajinikanth paid obeisance at Ram Lala enshrined in the temporary temple in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in and also observed the construction work of the under-construction temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya on Sunday. Acting national president of Sankat Mochan Sena and senior priest of Hanumangarhi Hemant Das took Rajinikanth to the famous Hanumangarhi temple for darshan. Upon reaching Ram Janmabhoomi Rajinikanth was welcomed by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Trust Committee member Vimalendra Mohan Mishra, Dr Anil Mishra, Commissioner Gaurav Dayal, IG Praveen Kumar, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharad Sharma, Municipal Commissioner of Ayodhya Municipal Corporation Vishal Singh, Superintendent of Police (Security) Pankaj Pandey and Manager of Tata Consultancy Ram Shankar.
Overwhelmed by the darshan of Ramlala, Rajinikanth said, “For many years I wanted to visit Ayodhya Dham and finally today the wish of seeing Lord Shri Ram has been fulfilled. I was very happy to see the construction work of the temple. If the Lord wishes, I will come again after the construction of the temple is completed.” During this, the film actor was also honoured by giving the design of the temple and wearing Ramnami clothes. Senior priest of Hanumangarhi Hemant Das also gave a grand welcome to actor Rajinikanth. After that he left for Lucknow. Earlier in the day, Rajinikanth met Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow before leaving for Ayodhya. Rajinikanth, who came on a three-day tour of Uttar Pradesh, met Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday. The actor who is here in connection with the promotion of his film ‘Jailer’ watched the special screening of the film along with Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.
