‘Oppn no-confidence motion only aims to confuse people’

New Delhi, Aug 9 (Agency) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday hit out at the opposition INDIA bloc for bringing a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha and said it has been moved only to create confusion among people. Taking a dig at the Opposition, Shah said when they brought the no-trust motion, they should have raised some valid issues against the government. “I have listened to all the speeches carefully but did not find anything significant about why the motion has been moved. I think the only aim is to confuse the people. I want to say that if people have trust in any of the governments in the country, that is the Narendra Modi-led government only, so there is no question of no trust motion.” Referring to the violence in Manipur, he appealed to both the Kukis and the Meiteis to come together to start communication to establish peace.

Criticising the opposition, Shah said, “They always say that they will waive off the farmers’ loans. We don’t believe in just waiving loans but believe in creating a system where no one has to take loans.” Earlier in the day, participating in the no-confidence motion debate, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not going to strife-torn Manipur. He accused the BJP-led government of murdering the voice of people in Manipur. Rahul Gandhi said he went to Manipur and spoke to women and children regarding the incidents that happened there but the PM didn’t go, not even till day. He alleged, “You (without taking name) have divided Manipur into two and broken the state. India is the voice of our heart, the voice of the people. The Modi government has murdered that voice of people in Manipur.” “The people of the country have pain, sorrow and difficulties. To hear this voice, we have tokeep aside our ego. Only then will we hear the voice of India,” said the Cong MP.
