Odisha govt approves eight industrial projects worth around Rs 1,250 cr

Bhubaneswar, July 25 (FN Bureau) The Odisha government on Tuesday approved eight industrial projects with a cumulative investment of approximately Rs 1,250 crore and employment opportunities for 3,540 people. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) Chaired by Chief Secretary P K Jena, approved these projects on various sectors including Apparel and Textile, Mining and Metallurgy, Steel and Agro Processing. The SLSWCA approved the proposal of a leading grain based Ethanol producer to set up Ethanol plant one each at Sonepur, Bolangir and Nabarangpur with a combined investment of Rs 814.54 crore.

In the Steel (Downstream) sector, a reputed manufacturer’s proposal, to set up a cutting-edge manufacturing unit for producing 1,80,000 steel doors and windows along with other products, with an investment of Rs 147.64 crore, received the approval. Nezone Tubes Utkal Limited’s proposal to expand its existing facility by establishing a manufacturing unit for 1,60,000 MT MS square and rectangular pipes and tubes, entailing an investment of Rs 105.00 crore at Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur was also approved. The other projects that received the nod were B K International Private Limited ‘s proposal to establish a manufacturing unit for socks, with an investment of Rs 52 Crore and MamtaFabrics Private Limited’s proposal to set up a readymade garments manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 50 Crore. Vedanta Limited’s proposal to set up a 4.5 MTPA Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant with an investment of Rs 80.Crore at Korda in Sundergarh district was also approved by the SLSWCA.
