CBI arrests FCI Manager, Delhi cop in separate bribery cases

New Delhi, July 12 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Manager of Food Corporation of India (FCI), posted in Assam’s Bongaigaon for allegedly accepting bribe from a complainant, the central probe agency said on Wednesday. A case was registered against the accused on the basis of a complaint. The complainant was an authorised representative of a private company based at Bongaigaon, dealing in loading and unloading of foodgrains at Bongaigaon FCI Warehouses, CBI said in a statement. The said company was submitting monthly bills to divisional office of FCI. It was alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 for passing/processing bills submitted by the said private company, it said.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the Manager, FCI, red handed while allegedly accepting bribe from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents including immovable properties, it said. In another case, CBI arrested a Delhi Police head constable, posted at Mangolpuri Police Station. Delhi for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs. 50 thousand from the Complainant. A case was registered against two head constables of Delhi Police, posted at Mangolpuri Police Station According to the complainant, he runs a shop for charging e-rickshaws, and th accused threatened to disrupt the operation of his e-rickshaws charging shop and demanded a bribe of Rs 50 thousand from him, CBI said. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while allegedly accepting the bribe from the complainant, it said.
