New Delhi, July 5 (Bureau) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against a Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable of Delhi Police, both posted in Paharganj Police Station, for allegedly demanding bribe from a complainant, the Central agency said on Tuesday.
It was alleged that both, Sub-Inspector Ravi and Head Constable Rajender Meel, were allegedly demanding bribe of Rs three lakh from the Complainant for not taking action in connection with the illegal borewell in the plot of the Complainant and for not stopping his ongoing construction work on the said plot, CBI said. It was alleged that the accused reduced the bribe to Rs 2.50 lakh on repeated request of the complainant, it said. During investigation, the SI and HC were apprehended while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 2 lakh from the complainant. Searches were being conducted at the premises of accused, CBI said.
