Yoga session to be organised at India Gate Lawn on June 24

New Delhi, June 23 (Agency) With an aim of recognising the importance of Yoga, focus on how it helps in promoting overall development and achieving holistic health ‘Yoga Sessions’ will be organised at the amphitheatre at the India Gate Lawn on Saturday. The sessions will be organised by the South Zone Cultural Centre on the directives of the Union Ministry of Culture from 6:30 pm onward. This Yoga Sessions with relevant demonstrations will be led by the veteran Yoga Acharya and two times National Yoga Champion Gopinath Edakkunny from Kerala along with his three Yoga trainers.

The session will be open to the public from all walks of life. The Yoga sessions will include meditation followed by ‘Pranayama’, body conditioning exercises, postures (Asanas) including simple and advanced asanas explanation and relaxation of the mind and body through ‘Shavasana’. The event will conclude with an inter-active session on ‘key points to develop concentration and flexibility for artists’. It may be noted that this year the International Yoga Day was celebrated with the theme of ‘Yoga for Holistic Development’ worldwide with great enthusiasm on June 21. Yoga Day promotes social, emotional, physical, mental and intellectual development by practising yoga.
