Sambalpur, June 22 (FN Bureau) A lady junior engineer of Maneswar block was caught by Odisha vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a Gram Sathi, sources said on Thursday. The vigilance sources said Pranati Sahu, the junior engineer, was trapped by the officials on Wednesday. She was allegedly caught while accepting the bribe from Dayanidhi Bhoi, a Grama Sathi of Batemura Gram Panchayat.
The lady engineer demanded the money from the Grama Sathi to give him the measurement book and other related documents for the road work from Antapali to Mahulpali. The Grama Sathi informed vigilance police who laid a trap and caught her from the block premises while accepting the cash. The vigilance officials also seized several documents from her office room and rented house in Dhanupali and conducted raids in her father-in-law’s house in Ghantianali village under Angul district and a show room in a shopping mall in Sambalpur which she was running.
