Hyderabad, June 14 (Agency) Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday called for the effective implementation of the Central sponsored schemes. She said that though there were a wide variety of schemes aimed at benefitting different sections of people, the effective implementation is vital. Dr Tamilisai, who was reviewing the status of implementation of central sponsored schemes with the senior functionaries of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRD&PR) at the Raj Bhavan, here, emphasised on the promotion of renewable energy sources and revival and maintenance of waterbodies in rural areas and also called for the mapping of water resources in rural areas.
Referring to the difficulties in marketing of the products made by the Self-Help Group women, the Governor suggested the NIRD functionaries to come up with exclusive e-marketing facilities to promote their products at the global level. She also called for the motivation of SHG women to come up with innovative products as part of the small and medium enterprise promotion. The Governor asked the functionaries working in rural areas to identify the sports talent among the rural children and enable them to get right training by the sports agencies concerned. “I found many promising youngsters in rural areas, and it is important to identify them early on and sharpen their skills through required training,” she added.
