Cong attacks BJP after ED raids premises linked to TN minister

New Delhi, June 13 (Agency) Attacking the Centre’s BJP-led government, the Congress on Tuesday termed as “political vendetta”. the Enforcement Directorate (ED) search operations at premises linked to Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji in connection with a case of alleged money laundering. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “The Congress condemns the blatant misuse of the ED in searching the office of Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji.”

“These are brazen attempts of the (Narendra) Modi government at harassment and intimidation. Such gross misuse of investigative agencies against political opponents has been the hallmark of the Modi government,” he said. The Congress chief added, “These tactics will not succeed in silencing the Opposition. They only reinforce its determination and resolve to continue its democratic struggle against the ‘anti-people’ policies of the Modi government.” The Opposition parties including Congress have been accusing the ruling BJP of ”misusing” the Central probe agencies.
