B-Town hail new Parliament building; call it ‘iconic’

New Delhi, May 29 (Agency) Bollywood celebrities like —Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Rajinikanth among others, have shared the video of the new Parliament building, with their own voiceovers, conveying their thoughts, as called upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The new Parliament building was inaugurated by the PM on Sunday.SRK, while sharing the video on Twitter wrote, “What a magnificent new home for the people who uphold our Constitution, represent every citizen of this great Nation and protect the diversity of her one People @narendramodi ji. A new Parliament building for a New India but with the age old dream of Glory for India. Jai Hind! #MyParliamentMyPride”.Responding to SRK’s tweet, the PM wrote, “Beautifully expressed! The new Parliament building is a symbol of democratic strength and progress. It blends tradition with modernity. #MyParliamentMyPride”. Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi Kumar’ aka Akshay captioned the video as, “Proud to see this glorious new building of the Parliament.

May this forever be an iconic symbol of India’s growth story. #MyParliament My Pride”.Modi retweeted Akshay’s post and said, “You have conveyed your thoughts very well. Our new Parliament is truly a beacon of our democracy. It reflects the nation’s rich heritage and the vibrant aspirations for the future. #MyParliament My Pride”. Sunny Deol wrote, “This parliament building stands as one of the best in the world. #MyParliament My Pride”. The inauguration of the new parliament began with the installation of scared ‘Sengol’ a sceptre from Tamil Nadu, in the Lok Sabha chamber, right next to the Speaker’s chair, after performing puja. During the historic inauguration of the new Parliament building, prayers from all religions (Jain, Judaism, Hindu, Islam, Sikh) were recited which was attended by the Cabinet ministers. The interior of the new Parliament building has three national symbols the lotus, the peacock, and the banyan tree as its themes. PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament on December 10, 2020.
