New Delhi, May 21 (Agency) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the newly constructed Parliament building should be inaugurated by the President of India instead of the Prime Minister. The statement of the former Congress president comes days after the Lok Sabha Secretariat in a communique said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the new Parliament building to the nation on May 28.
“President should inaugurate the new Parliament building, not the PM,” Rahul wrote in a tweet. On December 10, 2020, the foundation stone of the new building of Parliament was laid by Modi. The newly constructed Parliament building has been built in record time with quality construction, the LS Secretariat said.
