Dharamshala, May 17 (FN Bureau) The Tibetan Spiritual leader The Dalai Lama passed on words of wisdom about Yoga to IPL players for their concentration while on ground during a meeting 0n Tusday. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) management, including teams from Punjab and Delhi, met Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at His palace in McLeodganj and recited a lesson of peace on Tuesday morning ahead of Wednesday’s IPL match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. Sharing his thoughts with the players, the religious leader said, “You are all professional players and there are hundreds of thoughts running through your head on the playground, which can sometimes lead to distraction.
Yoga is the only way to control the mind in the Buddhist technique”.The spiritual leader said that through yoga one can attain inner peace by concentrating one’s mind and body. He said that Yoga helps the players mentally and physically and with this, the player can focus his attention, analyze his weaknesses and come to a conclusion and remove the shortcomings. He also spoke on ancient Indian thought, saying that my body is Tibetan, but I have studied ancient Indian thought since childhood. That’s why we are mentally connected to Indian thoughts and culture. Dalai Lama said, “Ancient India is our Guru but in modern times following westernization of young people we are connected with ancient Indian scriptures that is making us now Guru”
