Look forward to taking the India-US partnership to new heights

New Delhi, May 11 (Agency) New US Ambassador Eric Garcetti, who presented his credentials to President Droupadi Murmu today, said he is looking forward to working with India to take the bilateral partnership to new heights. In a tweet, Garcetti said: “I am deeply honored to present my credentials to President Droupadi Murmu today @RashtrapatiBhvn. “Thank you to the Government of India for your close and fruitful partnership with the United States. I’m excited to deepen US-India ties as we work together on defining issues of our time.”

According to a US statement, Ambassador Garcetti said: “I give my deepest thanks to President Murmu for extending such warmth and hospitality. It was an honor to present my credentials to the President, and it’s an honor to be back in India at such an exciting and historic time in the U.S.-India relationship. “I look forward to working with the Indian people to raise our partnership to new heights.” Ambassador Garcetti will make his first official trip next week to Ahmedabad and Mumbai, the statement added. His taking over comes just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official state visit to the US on June 22.
