Jalandhar, May 3 (Agency) Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday claimed that while the Punjab government last year, whenever there were any allegations of corruption against any AAP MLA or Minister, took transparent and strict action against people involved, BJP welcomed corrupt and criminals to their fold with open arms. AAP Punjab’s Chief Spokesperson Malvinder Kang was responding to BJP leader and Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s remarks on Tuesday that the AAP government in Punjab has broken earlier Congress governments’ record in corruption.
Kang said that they even sacked ministers but BJP didn’t even sack Ajay Mishra Teni whose son was accused of killing farmers in broad daylight. Kang reminded the BJP leader that the people of Punjab have not forgotten about farm laws or their agitation. AAP spokesperson asked Thakur that on what moral ground he was questioning AAP when BJP gave a ticket to the family of Kuldeep Sengar in UP who was a convicted rapist and murderer, freed the rapists of Bilkis Bano and was protecting WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Kang warned the BJP that their politics of hatred will never succeed in Punjab as people of the state always pray for ‘Sarbat da bhala’. AAP spokesperson alleged that the Congress had nothing to target the Bhagwant Singh Mann government with so they were launching personal attacks.
