Rahul Gandhi’s talk about OBC is objectionable: BJP

Shimla, Mar 24 (Agency) BJP leader and former minister Sukhram Chowdhary and MLA Pawan Kajal welcomed the punishment given by a Surat court to Rahul Gandhi for his derogatory remarks made four years ago in public. Praising the decision he said “The decision of the court shows that the law of the country and the constitution of the country is supreme and in its eyes all the citizens of the country are equal. The decision of the court also proves that no matter how big a person is, if he has committed a crime, he will definitely be punished. The unrestrained and objectionable things that Rahul Gandhi had said about the OBC society, we all had condemned it even then, and are condemning it even today. But, despite being sentenced by the court, the way Rahul Gandhi and the leaders of the Congress party are justifying those derogatory things, it is enough to tell what is the intention of the leaders of the Congress party and all the OBCs including the OBC community.

What are his thoughts about it? Rahul Gandhi still hasn’t come out of monarchy thinking”.The BJP leader asked, “Does such a condemnable speech of a big leader of the country against our society suit him? Is this not an insult to the constitution of the country? Is this not an insult to all of us who live with self-respect? Has Rahul Gandhi become so big with the country and the constitution of the country that he has got the right to abuse us? Far from apologizing, the way Congress leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are trying to justify it, it proves that they consider insulting us as their moral religion”. They said that Rahul Gandhi should stop believing that he and his family were above the country. “If Rahul Gandhi and the people of the country think that they are above the constitution of the country and the law of the country, then it is their mistake. If Rahul Gandhi ji and Congress leaders believe that they can abuse the citizens of their own country, then the constitution of the country has given us the right to approach the court against you”. “It cannot be your right to abuse the OBC society, to abuse the OBC society of the country, Mr. Rahul Gandhi. And, when the court sentences you for this, you cannot play the victim card, they added”.
