Modi govt staying in power for too long is dangerous for democracy: Nana Patole

Mumbai, Mar 14 (FN Agency) The Congress party protested outside the Raj Bhavans across the country to demand an inquiry into the Adani scam. What was the Chowkidar doing when Adani was looting money from State Bank of India and LIC? Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi raised the same question in the Parliament, but the government expunged that part from the proceedings of the House. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole has said that if the Modi government stays in power for a long time, democracy in the country will end, so we are demanding that the Modi government be dismissed. A march was taken out from Girgaon Chowpatty to Raj Bhavan under the leadership of Congress State President Nana Patole against the massive scam by the Adani Group. After that the Congress delegation gave a statement to Governor Ramesh Bais. In this march, Legislature Congress Party Leader Balasaheb Thorat, Former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Prithviraj Chavan, Legislative Council Group Leader Satej Bunty Patil, Mumbai Congress President MLA Bhai Jagtap, State Working President Former Minister Naseem Khan, Chandrakant Handore, Baswaraj Patil, MLAs Praniti Shinde, Kunal Patil, Mahila Congress state president Sandhya Savvalakhe, former MP Sanjay Nirupam, All India Congress Committee secretary and co-in-charge Ashish Dua, Youth Congress President Kunal Raut, Mumbai Youth Congress President MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, Regional president of the SC cell Siddharth Hattambire, chief spokesperson Atul Londhe, regional general secretary Pramod More, Devanand Pawar, senior leaders of the Congress party, former ministers, MLAs, MPs, key office bearers, presidents of all cells and frontals and Congress workers participated in large numbers. Nana Patole further said that due to the Adani scam, there is fear of loss of public money in SBI and LIC, therefore a march has been organized through the Congress party to convey the voice of the people to the President through the Governor. This march has been taken out to highlight the issues of farmers, labourers and youth.

The Modi government is cracking down on opposition leaders through central investigative agencies, putting them in jail. However, no action is taken against the people who joined BJP out of fear. If the Modi government remains in power for a long time, the democracy in the country will end. Rahul Gandhi worked to connect the country by leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra. On this occasion, Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat said that under the Modi government, whether the country’s democracy or constitution will be saved or not. A big march has started from Nashik towards Mumbai. BJP government does not pay attention to farmers, there is no price for onion, no price for vegetables, inflation has increased, gas cylinder costs Rs 1150, it has become difficult for people to live. The budget tabled by the state and the Centre is merely a number game and is full of announcements. There is fear of loss of the money invested in SBI and LIC. The Congress party demanded the appointment of a committee to probe the Adani scam, but the Modi government is silent on it. The Modi government is not even investigating the Adani scam. Speaking on the occasion, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that people’s money in State Bank and LIC was invested in Adani’s company but now it is in danger. MP Rahulji Gandhi was the first in the country to raise his voice against Adani. But the Modi government does not allow Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to speak in the Parliament. As we stand with the common people of the country, the Congress party has come to the streets for the benefit of the people. Modi-Adani Bhai Bhai, Desh Bechke Khai Malai.. were some of the slogans chanted at the protest.
