Modi and Adani are ‘one and the same’: Rahul

Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Nagar (Chhattisgarh), Feb 26 (Agency) In a frontal assault against the Prime Minister, erstwhile Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleged on Sunday that Mr Narendra Modi and the BJP could “do anything” and ally with anybody for the sake of power. Addressing his party’s 85th Plenary Session here, he alleged, “The Adani Group is akin to the East India Company. When a question was raised in Parliament regarding (Chairman and Founder Gautam) Adani becoming the world’s second most prosperous individual, up from 609th place, and the Prime Minister’s association with the Group, the entire government – including the ministers – stood in Mr Adani’s defence.

Thousands of crores are flowing into India from cell companies, whose money is it? Mr Adani operates even in the defence sphere – this is a grave issue linked to national security. Why is an inquiry not ordered and a JPC constituted?” Alleging that Mr Modi and Mr Adani are “one and the same,” the Congress leader added that the country’s wealth is flowing towards a single person. “The entire speech regarding Mr Adani was struck off the parliamentary record. We shall raise queries regarding him thousands of times and will not remain quiet until he is exposed. The Group is damaging India and hijacking the entire infrastructure. Indeed, History is being repeated,” Mr Gandhi said.
