Hyderabad, Feb 13 (Representative) Three films produced by Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Instructional Media Centre (IMC) have been selected for two prestigious film festivals. According to Rizwan Ahamd, Director, IMC, the short film “ARISTOTLE” has been selected for Lift-Off Global Network an International Film Festival by Pinewood Film Studio, Iver, Buckinghamshire and two other documentary films “Energy from Waste” & “Transforming India” have been selected for the screening in the 14th Prakriti International Documentary Film Festival by Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC, UGC) Ministry of Education, Government of India. Both the documentaries will be screened during the award-cum-screening ceremony of the festival at Madurai Kamaraj University scheduled to be held during March 2023.
“Aristotle” is a short biographical film by Md Aamir Badr, Producer of the Media Centre on the life of great Greek Philosopher Aristotle originally produced in the Urdu Language under the MANUU knowledge series. Prior to this selection, “Aristotle” has been appreciated widely at many film festivals and this is its fifth selection whereas “Transforming India” directed by Obaidulla Raihan, Cameraperson IMC, has also travelled to many festivals and “Energy from Waste” is an award winning documentary directed by M Mohammad Ghouse, Production Assistant of the Centre. Prof Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the IMC team and said that our focus is to take the academic content at international level and the centre has made significant efforts in supporting this endeavour. Rizwan Ahamd said that regular selection and recognition of IMC films at various National and International platforms is a matter of great satisfaction and encouragement.
